John Sweetwood is chief technology & operations officer, chief information security officer at Thornburg Investment Management, where he leads the firm’s technology and cybersecurity strategy. He is responsible for advancing Thornburg’s digital capabilities and ensuring secure, scalable infrastructure to support the firm’s long-term growth.
John brings more than 20 years of experience leading technology and security functions at global financial services firms. Prior to joining Thornburg, he served as CIO and CISO at Performance Trust Capital Partners, a full-service investment bank and broker-dealer specializing in community depository institutions. Throughout his career, John has built high-performing, sustainable teams focused on continuous improvement and delivering measurable business value.
John earned his degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
