Geoff Black

Director of Fund Operations and Managing Director

Geoffrey Black is director of fund operations for Thornburg Investment Management. He joined the firm in 2024 and is responsible for leading the team that provides services to shareholders of the Thornburg Investment Trust. In this role, Geoff oversees direct shareholder services, the Funds’ transfer agent and related vendors, and the support and oversight of financial intermediaries engaged in offering the Funds. He also represents Thornburg on the Investment Company Institute’s Operations Committee and Transfer Agent Advisory Committee, and serves as secretary of the Thornburg Investment Trust, Thornburg ETF Trust, and Thornburg Income Builder Opportunities Trust.

Prior to joining Thornburg, Geoff spent more than 38 years at Russell Investments, where he ultimately served as director of transfer agent service for Russell’s U.S. mutual funds. In addition, he managed a team in Canada responsible for overseeing all aspects of fund operations for Russell’s Canadian mutual funds. Earlier in his career, Geoff served for six years in the U.S. Army.

Geoff is registered with FINRA with a Series 24, 7 and 99.
