General Counsel and Managing Director
Amy is the General Counsel for Thornburg Investment Management where she advises the firm on a wide range of global legal and business issues, including strategic initiatives.
Amy holds a BA in Women’s Studies from Dartmouth College and a JD, cum laude, from Fordham University. Amy began her career in private practice at Cleary Gottlieb in New York, New York. She was also in private practice at McGuireWoods in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was in-house counsel at Ingersoll Rand with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate finance. Prior to joining Thornburg Investment Management, Amy spent four years with Barings LLC, holding several roles supporting the private placement team and most recently leading the corporate governance team across the Barings global platform. Amy began her professional career as a teacher in Washington, DC, as part of the Teach for America program.
